Intraday trading: PKR remains unchanged against USD

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) stayed largely unchanged against US dollar (USD) in the opening hours of fourth trading day of the week.

As trading started on Thursday, the PKR was seen trading around Rs277.73 against the greenback.

PKR closed the previous trading session in red, losing one paisa against the USD, ending the day at Rs277.73 as compared to its close of Rs277.74 on Tuesday.

During the ongoing fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the USD by 61.31 paisa or 0.22 per cent. However, the local currency has appreciated Rs4.13 or 1.49 per cent throughout this calendar year.

The rupee dropped 0.93 paisa or 0.01 per cent against Saudi Riyal to Rs73.96.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained Rs1.07 or 0.30 per cent to end at Rs360.07 compared to 361.14 a day ago.

The PKR appreciated 0.25 paisa per cent against the UAE Dirham to close at Rs75.61.

The local currency rose Rs1.05 or 0.33 per cent against Swiss franc to close at Rs320.06.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR’s value gained 1.86 paisa or 1.01 per cent to close the session at Rs1.8229 versus Rs1.8415 in the previous session.

Rupee gained 2.40 paisa or 0.06 per cent against Chinese Yuan to close at Rs38.98 from Rs39.00.

The home unit was seen Rs1.44 or 0.48 per cent up against the Euro, closing Wednesday at Rs299.46 compared to the previous value of Rs300.90.
