Early trade: PKR rises 12 paisa against USD

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) rose by 12 paisa, or 0.04 per cent, against the US dollar (USD) on the third trading day of the week.

Following this slight appreciation, the PKR was recorded at Rs277.72 against the greenback in the morning.

On the previous trading day, the PKR had slipped by 5.03 paisa, or 0.02 per cent, against the USD, closing at Rs277.84 per USD, compared to Monday’s closing of Rs277.79.

Since the start of the ongoing fiscal year 2025, the PKR has gained 50.33 paisa, or 0.18 per cent, against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, since the beginning of 2024, the rupee has appreciated by Rs4.02, or 1.45 per cent, versus the USD.
