Interbank closing: rupee sees modest gain of few paisa vs dollar

WEB DESK: In Thursday’s interbank trading, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) saw a modest gain of not more than 3 paisa against the US dollar (USD), concluding at Rs284.11, a slight improvement from the previous day’s closing rate of Rs284.14.
The Pakistani currency on Thursday saw an intraday high (bid) of Rs284.05 and a low (ask) of Rs284.25.
As reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the open market reflected buying and selling rates for the dollar at Rs283.2 and Rs285.9, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Euro experienced a decrease of 24 paisa, settling at Rs306.26 in comparison to its previous day’s closing value of Rs306.50, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese Yen observed a marginal increase of 02 paisa, closing at Rs1.95. Conversely, the British Pound witnessed a decline of 64 paisa, trading at Rs357.46 as opposed to the previous closing rate of Rs358.10.
The exchange rate for the Emirates Dirham dipped by 01 paisa, concluding at Rs77.36. Conversely, the Saudi Riyal maintained its position, closing at Rs75.75 without any change.
