Intraday trade: PKR up by 10 paisa against USD

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee (PKR) witnessed a slight improvement in the early hours of trading on the third trading day of the week against the US dollar (USD), appreciating 0.04 per cent in the interbank market on Wednesday.

In the morning, the home unit was recorded at Rs277.83 after gaining 10 paisa against the USD.

Previous closing

On Tuesday, the PKR dropped 0.02 per cent, or 6.55 paisa in total, and ended the trading session at Rs277.93 against USD.

Since the start of fiscal year 2025, Pakistani currency has appreciated only 0.15 per cent, or 41.47 paisa, against the greenback.

On the other hand, since the start of this calendar year, the local currency has ‘rose’ 1.42 per cent, or Rs3.93 versus USD.
