WEB DESK: The government is actively evaluating several options for restructuring the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) and has underscored that closure is not being considered.
In a recent meeting with USC representatives, Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, confirmed that the USC will not be closed.
Instead, the government is looking into different strategies to enhance the organisation’s efficiency and effectiveness.
According to a press release from the minister’s office, a new subsidy mechanism is being introduced to improve transparency and better serve the public.
Minister Hussain assured that no decisions regarding the USC’s future will be made unilaterally. All proposed changes will involve consultations with USC employees and other stakeholders to ensure their concerns are addressed.
The government is committed to protecting the jobs and welfare of all USC employees throughout this process.
