113 students selected for scholarships under SSESP

A total of 113 students from various parts of Sindh province have been selected for NJV School Karachi on fully funded scholarships under the Sindh School Education Scholarship Program (SSESP) by the Sindh Education Foundation, Government of Sindh, for classes 8th and 9th.
On July 20th, 2024, an orientation was held for the 7th batch of hostel students, where students and their parents were invited to attend the ceremony. The event included various sessions and activities conducted by administrators and students to provide a better understanding of NJV.

Deputy Director, Programs and Planning Central Region, Naheed Abbasi remarked that the Sindh Education Foundation aims to bring students from remote and underprivileged areas of Sindh into mainstream education. At NJV, these 113 students will not only receive academic education but also develop their personalities. Every activity, from classroom to hostel, will boost their confidence.
She added that this batch will receive an additional stipend of 500 rupees to meet their needs. Currently, girls receive 1500 rupees per month, and boys receive 1000 rupees; now, they will each receive an extra 500 rupees. She assured the parents that they need not worry about their children’s welfare, as SEF will provide both financial support and a home-like environment.

Director of Programs and Planning, Nisar Banbhan, expressed that seeing students from diverse backgrounds across Sindh at this institution is a sign of positive change. SEF is playing a crucial role in bringing about this transformation. He noted that these students are exceptional, having met all the necessary requirements, and wished them good luck.
When the Advocacy and Communication Unit of SEF interviewed selected students, they shared that studying at NJV was a dream come true, and SEF played a significant role in helping them achieve it. They expressed that their parents are proud of them, and they are determined to reach even more milestones to make their families prouder.
The Principal of NJV, DEO South, and other officials were also present to formally welcome the students.
