NED University signs MoU with Lahore Qalander


Need for sport science stressed at the signing ceremony.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between NED University and Lahore Qalandar. The center was named NED Lahore Qalandar High Performance Resource Centre. According to details, Dr. Danishur Rahman Khan, Dean Dr. Saad Qazi gave a presentation while the Pro-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Tufail was also present on the occasion. Addressing the reception, Dr. Sarosh Lodhi said that this was the first centre of its kind to be built in Sindh.

“The NED has a team in the form of education and trained experts who can provide training on fitness, while all this would not have been possible without the financial support of the Higher Education Commission. The Lahore Qalander team has an important role to play at international level where Pakistan is getting a lot of name,” add the Shaikh Al-Jamia further.

Speaking on this occasion, CEO Team Lahore Qalandar Atif Rana said that with the support of NED University we will work for the youth in the field of sports. He said that due to the lack of sports science and technology in Pakistan, many young people were left behind who could now come forward. Director General Sports Higher Education Commission Islamabad Javed Ali Memon said that our institution has been trying to promote sports and will continue to do so. Well-known sports anchor Yahya Hussaini said that anchor person Yahya Hussaini pointed out that the Pakistan Cricket Board does not have the facilities that Lahore Qalandar has. According to the spokesperson of Jamia, CEO Lahore Qalandar Atif Rana and acting registrar NED engineer Rubina Naz signed the memorandum of understanding. The centre to be built at NED University will have diagnostic laboratory facility to improve the skills and performance of athletes. The centre will be equipped with modern equipment that will enable the diagnosis of physical, especially muscle-related issues of the players, while equipment is also being installed to improve the action of the batsmen and bowlers. Sheikh-ul-Jamia Dr. Sarosh Lodhi also made CEO Lahore Qalandar Atif Rana, Yahya Hussaini and Jannat Lodhi visit the centre.
