Punjab government adjusts school timings for Summer

LAHORE: To safeguard students and staff from sweltering temperatures, as well as avoiding wastage of daylight, the Punjab government has modified school timings for the summer season.

O and A level exams starting from April 25

According to the issued notification, schools across Punjab will now operate from 7:45 AM to 1:15 PM Monday to Thursday, while regular classes on Fridays will end at 11:45 AM.

Double-shift schools will adhere to timings from 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM and from 12:45 PM to 5:15 PM throughout the province.

Previously, the provincial education department altered school timings for the Winter season, which were put into effect in February until April 15. The aim behind winter timings was to facilitate students and teachers in face of severe cold conditions.

During the winter period, boys’ schools in the provincial capital and other cities conducted regular classes from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, while girls’ schools adjusted their schedules to run from 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM.
