Vasl opens 2025 International Artist Residency applications

WEB DESK: Karachi-based Vasl Artists’ Association has announced its 2025 International Artists’ Residency, inviting applications from artists worldwide. The three-month program (October-December) provides selected participants with accommodation, studio space, a USD350 materials grant, and a weekly stipend to support their creative practice in Pakistan’s vibrant cultural hub.

Supported by Hum among others, the residency offers artists a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Karachi’s art scene, experiment with new ideas, and engage with local and international peers. A final exhibition will showcase the work produced during the program, allowing residents to present their projects to the public. However, participants must cover their own travel and visa expenses.

Since its inception, Vasl has been a key platform for cross-cultural artistic exchange, bringing together diverse voices to explore contemporary art practices. The residency encourages experimentation and collaboration, making it an ideal opportunity for emerging and mid-career artists seeking to expand their practice in a dynamic environment.

The application deadline is August 8, 2025. Artists from all disciplines, including visual arts, performance, and multimedia, are encouraged to apply.
