Asim Azhar and Merub Ali call off engagement after three years

WEB DESK: Following an engagement of three-years it has come as a shock to all fans that artist and singer Asim Azhar has ended his engagement with actor Merub Ali. The singer took to his Instagram story in the late hours of the night announcing an amicable end to their relationship.

Merub Ali, 29 and Asim, 28 got together three years ago following Asim’s famous breakup with popular actor Hania Aamir. Both Asim and Merub have also removed each other from Instagram.

Many fans, however, have been disappointed and have taken to social media to express their disbelief.

Some were upset at the timings how he would be performing in Lahore today while announcing the break-up earlier.

Last year in May, Asim had revealed that his marriage to fiancée (now ex) Merub would happen soon, though no date was finalised. During a comedy show, Azhar had responded to a fan’s question about their wedding, stating that the decision rests with their families, and he hopes for good news soon. The couple, engaged since 2022 after a long friendship, often shared affectionate posts on social media. Previously linked to Hania Aamir, Azhar moved on with childhood friend Merub, whom he co-starred with in Sinf-e-Aahan. Fans eagerly awaited official updates on their nuptials only to realise that truly nothing lasts forever.
