‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ to stream on Netflix Pakistan from July 19

Becoming Led Zeppellin

KARACHI: Music enthusiasts in Pakistan will soon have access to the critically acclaimed documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin, which is set to premiere on Netflix Pakistan tomorrow on July 19.

The film, which originally debuted in IMAX theaters earlier this year, chronicles the legendary rock band’s meteoric rise, from their post-war upbringing and early days in the 1960s music scene to their breakthrough in 1969. Featuring rare concert footage, personal archives, and interviews with surviving band members, the documentary offers an intimate look at the group behind iconic hits like Stairway to HeavenKashmir, and Immigrant Song.

Directed by Bernard MacMahon, known for his work on American Epic, the documentary was first screened in 2021 before Sony Pictures acquired distribution rights. While Netflix had initially omitted the title from its June 2025 slate announcement, it has now been confirmed for streaming in Pakistan as part of Sony’s licensing deal with the platform.

This marks a rare opportunity for audiences to experience the band’s storied journey, as many Sony-distributed titles typically take years to become available in regional markets. The documentary will join other recent Sony releases on Netflix, including The Outrun and The Penguin Lessons, with more films expected later this year.
