WEB DESK: Singer, musician and now a puppeteer, Bilal Maqsood, shared that his YouTube channel Pakkay Dost has been hacked, urging the fans to not click or share any links till it is cleared.

Tweeting on X, formerly Twitter, the member of the disbanded band, Strings, said that the team was already in touch with Google/YouTube and is working to recover: “Please do not click on any new videos or links from the channel until we confirm it’s safe. And pray for its recovery.”

The season three of the show, which has gained popularity among children, is to be released on September 1. Pakkay Dost has been a lively effort to make Urdu enjoyable, interactive, and available, and the new season offers even more memorable tunes, quirky personalities, and meaningful life lessons, presented through vibrant visuals and engaging narratives.

With a new member on board, the official poster of the show features Syra alongside the charming puppets, which include fuzzy characters in red, blue, green, and purple, each possessing unique personalities. Featuring an entirely local cast, Urdu music, and cultural allusions, Pakkay Dost is bringing back the charm of desi children’s programming, which had been sidelined in recent years.

Bilal Maqsood wants families to rally behind the show as in a passionate Instagram appeal earlier, he called the puppet show his “life’s purpose,” describing it as a mission to “make Urdu cool again.” Concerned over the flood of foreign content shaping children’s values, he said Pakkay Dost offers a homegrown alternative, packed with music, songs, and characters that celebrate Pakistani culture. “We can’t cut kids off from screens, but we can choose what they watch,” he urged, asking fans to champion quality Urdu content.

With Syra’s presence, Pakkay Dost exceeds being merely a show rather it’s a movement aimed at engaging children with their values in an entertaining manner.

Maqsood will also be returning to the screen as a judge on Pakistan Idol, the show returning after a hiatus of more than ten years.
