First look: Jonas Brothers’ wild ride in ‘A Very Jonas Christmas’

Jonas Brothers

WEB DESK: Remember the Jonas Brothers who were all the hype back in late 2000s and early 2010s? Well, Christmas is arriving early for their fans. Disney+ on Friday unveiled the first teaser for A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, a star-studded festive adventure featuring Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas as…themselves; brothers stranded in Europe and desperate to get home to New York in time for the holidays. The film premieres globally on November 14.

The teaser sets the tone immediately: after wrapping a sold-out London concert, the trio dismisses their fictional band manager, played by Randall Park, who offers to help them catch their flight. “It’s one night, Brad, we’ll be fine,” Nick insists. Famous last words.

From there, nothing goes to plan. The Jonas Brothers’ journey unravels into holiday mayhem, a broken-down car in snowy woods, brushes with royal guards, and even a run-in with a pack of hungry wolves. “I’m sorry we never got to hear you sing, Kevin!” Joe yells in mock despair as the wolves close in. “I’m sure your voice is pretty okay.” Kevin, screaming back: “Thank you!”. And of course, Bollywood’s Priyanka Chopra also appears in the trailer as Nick assures he would see her over Christmas.

The cast is stacked with familiar names. Billie Lourd, Laverne Cox, KJ Apa, Chloe Bennet, Andrew Barth Feldman and Andrea Martin all join the ensemble, alongside Kenny G and Justin Tranter (both playing themselves). The biggest surprise? Modern Family alum Jesse Tyler Ferguson suiting up as Santa Claus.

Directed by Emmy and Oscar winner Jessica Yu (Quiz Lady), the film is produced by Disney Branded Television and 20th Television, with Jonas Brothers themselves on board as producers. Tranter, also the film’s executive music producer, is behind a soundtrack of original songs and holiday tunes.

The project was first teased back in January with a cheeky Love Actually–style card drop on social media, later confirmed at the brothers’ fan event, JONASCON, in New Jersey. “Disney was the perfect partner to bring the full holiday magic to this,” Joe said at the time, adding that the accompanying album made the project even more appealing.

Filmed in Toronto, the movie also promises surprise cameos from the extended Jonas family. “The cameos in this film, it’s wild,” Joe teased. “We couldn’t believe it’s stayed secret this long.”

With chaos, comedy, and a sleighful of cameos, A Very Jonas Christmas Movie looks set to deliver holiday cheer, and a little Jonas family chaos, just in time for the season.
