Hasan Raheem’s Memories: blood on the shaadi floor

WEB DESK: A few weeks ago many hearts were broken indeed when Hasan Raheem dropped an Instagram post insinuating that he was no longer single. With a shaadi backdrop it seemed that the Wishes singer was ready to tie the knot but staying true to the brand, it turned out it was just a prop not for the end of his singlehood but for his single Memories out on streaming platforms and the video being streamed.

Memories shows the story of a groom who is waiting for his bride in a very desi shaadi setup with women engaging with others, children running around with the couple preparing to watch the dances.

Also remember Justin Bibis? They also make an appearance which is sweet to think of their journey with Raheem in Coke Studio’s Peeche Hatt. But while one is thinking of nostalgia, different women start waving or winking at Hasan in the video as he gets flashbacks of the time he has spent with them hinting that he has been led and perhaps also later ghosted many women before. But before he knows it, one of them throws a knife at the ‘other’ woman, and all ‘other’ women get into a brawl, blood spilling on the dance floor and around. The groom aka Hasan Raheem gets into an argument with the bride who pushes him. Once he is on the floor, one of the many ‘other’ women steps in, stops them from fighting reminding that they should attack the common enemy instead of each other. Thus the women give him a good beating for betraying their trust and emotions and wasting their time.
