‘Jafa’ – Probing the pulse of society and bringing the unseen to surface

Sehar Khan, known for her captivating performances in ‘Fairy Tale’ and ‘Rang Mahal’, takes on the lead role of Andalib, a B.Sc student, in this drama, and she is paired opposite Zarar Khan.

Her acting shines in this drama as she falls in love with a classmate, only to have her parents dismiss their relationship as a childhood infatuation. The girl, is then married to a doctor from a stable background (Usman Mukhtar), who is not interested in marriage. Meanwhile, Andalib and Mueez (played by Zarrar) struggle to overcome their lingering feelings for each other, leading to a tumultuous life.

The second storyline revolves around Andalib’s cousin, Dr. Zara, played by Mawra Hussain, who is paired with Hasan, a hot-tempered individual with psychological issues. This toxic relationship is marked by fear and control, as Hasan is intimidated by Zara’s strength and authority. As a result, their married life is plagued by problems and tension. The story of working women after marriage, despite their conciliatory attitude, takes a dramatic turn as infidelity becomes a major plot point.

The latest episode (12th) of this drama received a phenomenal response from the audience last night. As the show continues to unfold, its popularity is growing, and it’s hoped that by the end of it, the message conveyed by Samira Fazal will resonate with viewers.
