KARACHI: ‘Mohabbat Reza Reza’ kept viewers entranced for 98 weeks, particularly due to the suspenseful final episodes, the emotions displayed, and the beauty of the mother-son bond that resonated deeply with audiences. In its wake, a new drama titled ‘Aadhi Bewafai’ has recently premiered, and the first episode has already captivated viewers. This drama, cantered on domestic themes, weaves a compelling narrative. The pairing of Darfashan and Arsal is portrayed as a loving couple leading a tranquil life together, but the shadow of childlessness disrupts their serene existence.
On the other hand, Dureshawar, proud of her beauty, is on the lookout for a wealthy prince, turning down the marriage proposal of her cousin Nabeel. Enter Asad, who changes everything. This soap opera skillfully explores the complexities of human relationships. One daughter suffers the anguish of unfulfilled motherhood, while the other, blinded by the allure of wealth, discards genuine connections. In her relentless pursuit of money, she embarks on a perilous path that threatens to engulf her in darkness. The mother’s incessant worries about her daughters’ turbulent lives amplify, as she strives tirelessly to guide them through their struggles, ultimately leading to an unbearable climax.
Muhammad Athar Ansari, the writer of the drama, states, “The portrayal of human relationships in this series is unlike anything previously seen on television.” Faiq Khan, the lead character, shares his thoughts on the drama, saying, “HUM TV has always excelled in creating meaningful content, and this drama is no exception. It has been thoughtfully adapted to reflect societal issues. Many challenges faced by couples, such as the struggle with infertility, are addressed, revealing how even the strongest women can feel insecure due to various pressures. This series, consisting of 65 to 70 episodes, is a rich mix of experiences that I believe viewers will resonate with deeply.”
“Directed by Shah Hussain, son of renowned playwright Noorul Huda Shah, who also has a role in the drama, this well-crafted production promises to be engaging. I am optimistic that audiences will enjoy it,” he added.
The drama serial boasts an impressive line-up of prominent actors, including Beenish Chauhan, Alishba Khan, Shahbaz Shugri, Ahmed Taha Ghani, Faiq Khan, Naeema Khan, Hashim Butt, Ijaz Mir, Rubina Naz, and others.
Speaking about his character in the drama, Shahbaz Shugri, who portrays the character of Asad, says, “My role is quite distinct and is not a negative one at all. However, my character is fixated on achieving his goals and will stop at nothing to reach them. He struggles with personal issues, making his journey even more complex. I believe his storyline will resonate with viewers.” Shahbaz is particularly excited about the unique love story of his character and Alishba Khan’s, which also touches on some darker themes.
Directed by Shah Hussain and written by Muhammad Athar Ansari, and produced by Momina Duraid Productions, this drama, which premiered on January 31, airs Monday to Sunday at 7 p.m.
