WEB DESK: Celebrated singer and Pride of Performance recipient Ali Zafar will headline a special fundraising concert later this month to support families devastated by the recent floods across Pakistan. He will be joined by the likes of Arif Lohaar, Ali Hamza of Noori, Danyal Zafar, Natasha Baig, Aima Baig and others.
The concert is scheduled for September 27 at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore, beginning at 7:00 PM. Organisers said Zafar will deliver a full performance, with surprise guest appearances by leading artists to be revealed closer to the event. Proceeds will go to the Ali Zafar Foundation, which is engaged in relief and rehabilitation work in flood-hit areas. Tickets are being sold exclusively via TicketWala.
“This concert is more than music, it’s a call to action,” Zafar said. “Together, we can bring hope to those who are still waiting for relief. Let’s come together and stand by our people in their time of need.”
The initiative comes on the heels of last month’s “Khel Se Khidmat” charity cricket match in Peshawar, which featured legends including Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Babar Azam and Kamran Akmal. That effort, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government, directed proceeds from VVIP ticket sales towards flood relief.
The Lahore concert is being billed as a landmark moment for Pakistan’s music and humanitarian community — uniting artists and fans in a cause that goes far beyond entertainment.
Floods 2025
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported on Sunday that monsoon rains and floods since June 26 have claimed 1,006 lives nationwide and injured 1,063 people. Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) recorded the highest fatalities, with 304 and 504 deaths respectively. Other losses included 80 deaths in Sindh, 41 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 38 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 30 in Balochistan, and nine in Islamabad.
Rescue operations evacuated more than 3.02 million people, with Punjab alone accounting for 2.81 million evacuations. In total, 5,768 operations were carried out across the country. Floods damaged 12,569 homes, destroyed 239 bridges, and washed away nearly 2,000km of roads. Over 6,500 livestock were also lost.
Relief efforts led by the NDMA, Army, and PDMAs included 273,524 relief items distributed, 1,690 camps set up, and more than 662,000 people treated. About 152,000 displaced persons were provided temporary shelter as rehabilitation efforts continue.
