Nadan: A gripping tale of struggle in the face of ignorance

After watching the final episode of ‘Mann Jogi’, it’s clear that the unique script compelled Sultana Siddiqui to produce this impactful drama. The way communities come together, often blindly swayed by manipulation, to pass judgment on issues they hardly understand, resonates throughout the narrative. The challenges faced by Aaliya in the last episode, particularly the public disrespect she endured at the hands of an ignorant crowd, were hauntingly portrayed. The powerful speech delivered by Maulvi Sahib struck a chord, echoing the depths of human emotion. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved in this remarkable project, especially Sultana Siddiqui, for creating such an exceptional drama.

Following the success of ‘Mann Jogi’, we eagerly anticipated the premiere of “Nadan,” which aired its first episode recently, with the second episode set to be broadcast tonight at eight o’clock. There’s little doubt about the quality of any drama associated with Sultana Siddiqui, and “Nadan” appears to uphold the same high standards we’ve come to expect.

From the first episode, it’s apparent that “Nadan” is a serious drama confronting the pervasive reach of evil in a rural setting. The stark inadequacies in health and education systems in our country are troubling. Ignorance thrives in these underserved areas, leading to the tragic loss of lives, property, and honour. The narrative follows a doctor assigned to a remote region who faces hostility from the locals, who seek to drive him out for unfounded reasons. This doctor is acutely aware that the community is being ensnared by drug addiction under the guise of amulets, and this realization puts his life at risk.

As the story unfolds, viewers are treated to a rollercoaster of ups and downs with numerous twists that reveal harsh truths worth confronting. This drama serves as the second part of Sultana Siddiqui’s acclaimed mini-series. Like ‘Mann Jogi’, ‘Nadan’ highlights how individuals can unwittingly become instruments of cruelty, oppressing the innocent without grasping the full situation. A handful of agitators can incite the masses, leading to disastrous consequences.

Today’s episode is anticipated to bring even more revelations. Ramsha Khan is commendably portraying the doctor, while Ahmed Ali Akbar, known for his role in ‘Parizaad’, is cast as a police inspector. However, it seems he struggles to distance himself from his previous character. Hamad Shoaib also brings a fresh portrayal to the play.

Written by Saji Gill and presented by Moomal Productions, it’s worth noting that Moomal Shunaid’s production ‘Fareb’ was recently honoured at an awards ceremony. With its engaging narrative, rich character development, and the power of the writer’s voice, alongside the expertise of Momal Productions, this project benefits immensely from Sultana Siddiqui’s passionate guidance and oversight at every step. We have high hopes that ‘Nadan’ will achieve the same level of public acclaim as ‘Mann Jogi’.
