PEMRA visits HUM Network to discuss challenges and opportunities in media

Karachi, December 12, 2024: Chairman PEMRA, Muhammad Saleem Baig, paid a visit to HUM Network Limited’s Karachi office on December 12, 2024.

Officials from both sides participated in a productive dialogue focused on addressing significant challenges within the industry, particularly the need to enhance the standards and quality of Pakistani dramas and productions. Mr. Baig underscored the media’s pivotal role in projecting a positive image of Pakistan on the global stage. Meanwhile, Mr. Qureshi provided insights into the current obstacles facing the industry, emphasizing the necessity for collaborative efforts to strengthen and elevate the broadcasting sector in the country. Together, they underscored the importance of innovation and partnership in transforming the media landscape.

The PEMRA delegation comprised of several key officials, including the Executive Director, the Director General of Licensing, the Director General of Broadcast Operations, the Head of Legal Affairs, the Regional Director for Karachi, the Director of Operations in Karachi, and the Director of FM in Karachi.

The management team from HUM Network Limited was led by President Ms. Sultana Siddiqui and CEO Mr. Duraid Qureshi. They were joined by COO Mr. Arif Hussain, as well as senior team members Mr. Badar Ikram, Mr. Hasan Akbar, and Mr. Mohsin Naeem.
