Sultana Siddiqui’s ground-breaking trilogy – highlighting injustice in our society


The anticipation surrounding the release of ‘Mann Jogi’ has been palpable, especially given Sultana Siddiqui’s dedicated effort to bring forth meaningful narratives after a significant hiatus. With a drive to foster positive change, she meticulously searched for a script that would shed light on individuals who manipulate politics, religion, and societal norms for personal gain. Her goal was to expose these self-serving behaviours, which often lead to widespread consequences, including the ruin of innocent lives.

Ms Siddiqui’s mission was to create poignant and impactful content that resonates with viewers, drawing attention to prevalent societal issues like self-interest, exploitation, and the culture of anger and intolerance that frequently results in injustice. This vision manifested in a series of three interconnected stories. The first, titled ‘Mann Jogi’ received overwhelming acclaim, starring talented actors Bilal Abbas, Sabina Farooq, and Gauhar Rasheed. The narrative effectively illustrated how religious values can be twisted for personal objectives, underscoring the dangers of such practices and how societal complicity can lead to tragic outcomes for the innocent.

The second installment, ‘Nadan’ is currently airing and capturing the audience’s attention, especially as its climax approaches. Featuring a talented cast including Ahmed Akbar Ali, Ramsha Khan, and Hammad Shoaib Khan, ‘Nadan’ is swiftly gaining popularity due to its compelling storytelling.

Filming is presently underway for the final segment of the series, titled ‘Tan Man Neel-o-Neel’ a drama that tackles a sensitive subject with a light and engaging touch. In light of some recent controversies surrounding social media figures, Hum TV’s decision to address this topic is both timely and significant. This drama presents the challenges faced by TikTok creators, illustrating society’s tendency to judge and sensationalize issues based on hearsay. ‘Tan Man Neel-o-Neel’ explores the repercussions of these dynamics and conveys a critical message about the necessity of thoughtful engagement over mindless gossip.

Directed by acclaimed Saif Hassan and penned by Mustafa Afridi, ‘Tan Man Neel-o-Neel’ dives deep into the mental health and passions of today’s youth, highlighting the struggles endured by innocent individuals caught in societal judgments. It aims to underscore that with careful consideration and introspection, society can tackle pressing challenges.

Initially, Sajal Ali was slated for the lead role, but as production began, the talented Sahar Khan was cast instead, paired with the notable actor Shuja Asad. Fans have expressed excitement about this collaboration.

Sahar Khan, who made her acting debut in 2018 with the drama serial ‘Sanwari’ with her character Shama, then later showcasing her versatility in various productions, including ‘Haqiqat’, ‘Wafa ke Chalay’, ‘Naqb-e-Zun’, ‘Agar Main Chup Hoon’,‘Mushk’ ‘Fasiq’ and telefilms like ‘Teri Meri Kahani’. She has become a familiar presence in households thanks to her current work in ‘Jaffa’. Shuja Asad is also earning accolades for his role in ‘College Gate’ and ‘Khai’ as Burlas further solidifying his reputation as a talented actor.

With Mustafa Afridi’s compelling narrative and Saif Hassan’s dynamic direction, “Tan Man Neel-o-Neel” promises to be a memorable addition to the series. This drama is set to air following the conclusion of ‘Nadan’.
