Sunrise on the Reaping: Hunger Games prequel book, movie announced

WEB DESK: Get ready, Hunger Games fans! Lionsgate is gearing up to adapt Suzanne Collins’ latest novel, “Sunrise on the Reaping,” for the silver screen.

Scheduled to hit theaters on November 20, 2026, fans are eagerly awaiting the latest offering in the Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping will transport the fans back to the brutal yet captivating world of Panem in an all-new adventure.

Francis Lawrence, the director behind the previous four films, in talks to helm this latest installment. Meanwhile, an all-new cast will feature in the upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, Suzanne Collins’ book is set to be published on March 18, 2025.

Sunrise on the Reaping will delve into the events 24 years before the inception of the original Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen and other beloved younger heroes from the original Hunger Games will not be making an appearance.

The book will offer new and more in depth insights into the dystopian universe. Suzanne promised a story that is as “thought-provoking” as it will be “thrilling”.
