WEB DESK: The queen of gothic gloom is back, and things are about to get a lot weirder at Nevermore Academy. Netflix’s wildly popular Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as the deadpan detective with a heart of obsidian, returns tomorrow with a chilling new mystery in Season 2, and the first batch of episode titles is enough to make even Thing twitch in anticipation.
Part 1 of Season 2 drops on August 6, featuring the first four episodes, each carrying a pun-laden, woe-tastic title that teases what’s in store for the Addams antihero. From Burton’s eerie lens to some new spine-tingling stills, the series promises to double down on its signature blend of teen angst, macabre humor, and supernatural sleuthing.
Here’s your grim guide to what’s ahead:
- Episode 1: “Here We Woe Again”
– Written by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar | Directed by Tim Burton
– Nevermore’s walls creak with secrets, and Wednesday walks straight back into trouble, or perhaps she never left it behind. - Episode 2: “The Devil You Woe”
– Written by Matt Lambert | Directed by Paco Cabezas
– Old demons and new tensions threaten to undo Wednesday’s carefully curated emotional distance. - Episode 3: “Call of the Woe”
– Written by Valentina Garza | Directed by Paco Cabezas
– A mysterious force beckons, and Wednesday is drawn deeper into a shadowy plot that may rewrite what she knows about her family’s legacy.
- Episode 4: “If These Woes Could Talk”
– Written by Lauren Otero | Directed by Tim Burton
– Buried truths claw their way to the surface, and the voices of the past may hold the key to surviving the present.
Co-creators Gough and Millar warn that nothing is as it seems this season: “Wednesday thinks she knows where the bodies are buried, (she doesn’t).” With new photos featuring familiar faces like Enid, Pugsley, Morticia, Gomez, and Uncle Fester, the countdown is officially on. Wednesday Season 2 promises a darker, twistier ride, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
Mark your calendars. The woes begin tomorrow on August 6.
