Bangladesh victory

Afghanistan struggled right from the start, as top-order batter Sediqullah Atal was dismissed for a duck, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz managed only 35 off 31 balls. The two were taken down by Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain, respectively.

Ibrahim Zadran and Gulbadin Naib contributed only 5 and 16 runs respectively, adding just 21 to the team’s total. Both were dismissed by Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain.

Middle-order batters Azmatullah Omarzai and Karim Janat were also not allowed to settle at the crease, dismissed after contributing just 30 and 6 runs respectively to the team’s total.

Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad tried to turn things around for their side but were heavily pressured by the rivals fast bowlers. Both were eventually dismissed by star pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed after contributing 20 and 14 runs respectively. Lower-order batter AM Ghazanfar was sent back for a duck by Mustafizur, further denting Afghanistan’s chase.

By then, the match had ended as the 20 overs were completed, and Bangladesh won the game by 8 wickets.
