The first semi-final of the 2025 Champions Trophy is set to kick off soon. India, who topped Group A, will be facing Australia, who finished second in Group B. Fans will watch two of the best ODI teams in the world compete for a spot in the Champions Trophy finals. And all the latest updates can be found right here as they happen on the field.
Match Information:
The game is taking place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Australia have had a rough road to the finals. As is expected with them at this point, the Aussies were plagued by rain. Their second game of the tournament against Group B’s top team, South Africa, never got going, and their third game against Afghanistan never saw its end. With no result in either match, Australia only managed to grab one point from each. However, thanks to their victory over England in their first match of the tournament, which gave them another two points for a total of 4, they out qualified Afghanistan and England to qualify for the semi-finals.
India has been one of the tournaments best teams. They comfortably beat their first two opponents, Bangladesh and Pakistan thanks to some incredibly batting from Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, as well as some great bowling from Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav. The only resistance India faced was in their third match against Group A’s other semi-final qualifier, New Zealand. The Kiwis held India down to just 249 runs, but Varun Chakravarthy five-fer dismantled New Zealand’s batting line-up. New Zealand were all out for 205 and India had topped their group.
Now India has an even harder test in Australia. Despite finishing second, many believe the Aussies are the strongest team at the tournament apart from India. Fans will find out just how strong they are when the two teams clash today.
