PAK VS IND: Mohsin Naqvi meets Sri Lanka cricket officials, strengthens bilateral ties
Colombo: PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with officials of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board during his visit to Colombo, highlighting a renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral cricket ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi discussed with Shammi Silva, President of Sri Lanka Cricket, and other senior officials ways to enhance cooperation in cricket development, talent exchange, and the promotion of the sport at grassroots and professional levels.
Sri Lanka’s Minister of Sports, Sunil Shanthawe, also attended the meeting along with key officials from both cricket boards. Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain, PCB COO Samir Ahmed, and PSL CEO Salman Naseer were present to witness the discussions and show support for the bilateral partnership.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said, “Cricket is not just a game; it is a bridge that builds friendships and strengthens bonds between nations. I am delighted to visit Colombo and engage with our counterparts in Sri Lanka.”
The SLC thanked Mohsin Naqvi for his visit and appreciated his efforts to promote cricket through collaboration and mutual support. Both boards reaffirmed their commitment to working together on tournaments, youth programs, and initiatives that will benefit cricket in both countries.
The visit also included a special ceremony organised by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to honour Mohsin Naqvi for his invaluable contributions to the sport. Expressing his gratitude, the PCB Chairman praised the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the trip.
This visit is seen as a significant step in further strengthening the cricketing ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, fostering cooperation both on and off the field.
