Pakistan vs India match: Shaheens sent to bat first in Asia Cup 2025 final
DUBAI: The men in blue won the toss and chose to field, sending the Shaheens in to bat first for the much-anticipated Pakistan vs India final match of the Asia Cup 2025, taking place here tonight.

Faheem hunts down his second wicket
All rounder Faheem Ashraf picked up another wicket after destroying Shubman Gill for 12 runs in the 3rd over. With this, Pakistan were able to continue a commanding field and pressure India even more.
With the fall of Gill by Faheem, Indian batters were hardly able to increase their chase up to 20 in the third over.

Shaheens hunt down second wicket
Eventually, Shaheens bowlers also began to establish a winning momentum in the 3rd over as star pacer Shaheen Shah came in to hunt down the second wicket of the India.
The archrivals’ skipper Suryakumar Yadav was able to stay at crease only for 4 before being downed by Shaheen in the 3rd over of the innings.
Shaheens bowlers restricted the archrivals’ chase to unprecedented 11 runs in the 3rd over.

India sent their top batters Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill in the beginning to open their innings Shaheens bowlers were in form.
Fahim Ashraf destroyed the India’s opening after picking up the first wicket for Pakistan as the men in blue lost Abhishek for 5 in the 2nd of the innings.
Shaheens to defend all-out 146-run total against India
Great expectation seemingly lost as the moral of the cricket fans came at a much low after Shaheens couldn’t show up a spectacular batting in the final clash of Asia Cup 2025. Batters from top through the lower order all couldn’t handle the pressure to stay on the pitch for and deliver a stunning target.
The India’s seasoned bowlers played havoc during their overs, especially which continued through the middle and finishing overs.
Pakistan’s batting lineup was bowled out for 139, with five balls remaining in the innings. Thanks to the 7 extras conceded by the Indian bowlers through the innings which increased the score to a modest 146-run total.

Shaheen Shah Afridi, promoted to No 7 specifically for this high-stakes clash against the archrivals, struggled to get a hold of the bat. Much like Mohammad Haris, he too was dismissed for a duck, this time by Kuldeep Yadav, leaving Pakistan at 135 for 7 at the end of 17 overs.
The Shaheens lost yet another wicket for a duck. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf failed to add even a single run to the total, as Kuldeep Yadav struck again with relentless precision.

Pakistan top batter Fakhar Zaman played remarkable as he brilliantly added 46 off 35 deliveries to increase the team’s total up to 127 runs in 15 overs.
There came in all rounder Hussain Talat, aimed for a good partnership in the last five overs with the team’s kipper Salman Agha, but was sent back after jerking the team’s total for digit.

The first-in Saim Ayub came in with an aim to score well this time, however he couldn’t stay for long and was downed by the Indian star pacer Bumrah after adding only 14 runs to their 114-run total in the 12th over.
A similar blow came in the 14th over, as Pakistan lost another key wicket. Mohammad Haris stepped in, hoping to steady the innings, but was dismissed for a duck by Patel, dealing a major setback to the batting side.
