Australia won the toss and chose to bat.

Aussie skipper Steven Smith said that India are a good side and that the team likes facing them. He also noted that the pitch is dry and should have some turn.

India skipper Rohit Sharma didn’t seem to mind bowling. He was ready for both options and thus felt it was better to lose the toss. Sharma also noted that India has played three matches in the stadium already and that the pitch seems to keep changing. He also said that the slower bowlers have been performing well.
