10 newly-elected members join PML-N

LAHORE: At least two newly-elected members of the National Assembly and eight Punjab Assembly have formally joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The PML-N announced that two members of the National Assembly, who had contested the election as independent candidates, have joined the party. They are Waseem Qadir, who had contested the election with the support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from NA-121 Lahore.

Similarly, Sardar Shamsher Mazari, who had contested the election from NA-189 Rajanpur, joined the PML-N.

Provincial assembly members

The PML-N also announced that eight members of the provincial assembly, who had contested the election as independent candidates or with the support of other parties, had joined the party.

They are Khurram Work and Muhammad Fayaz, who had contested and won the election from PP-48 and PP-49 Sialkot respectively.

Similarly, Zulfiqar Ali Shah and Saqib Khan Chadhar, who had contested the election from PP-96 and PP-97 Chiniot respectively, joined the PML-N.

Imran Akram, who had contested the election from PP-195 Pakpattan, also joined the PML-N.

Newly-elected members Sohail Khan and Sahibzada Ghazeen Abbasi, who had contested the election from PP-240 Bahawalpur and PP-249 Bahawalnagar respectively, also joined the PML-N.

Khizr Hussain Mazari, who had contested the election from PP-297 Rajanpur, joined the PML-N.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the new members and expressed his gratitude for their trust and confidence in the party.

The PML-N said that with the joining of the new members, it has achieved the simple majority to form the Punjab government.
