13 killed in multi-vehicle crash on Karachi-Hyderabad motorway

KARACHI: At least 13 people, including children, were killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the Karachi-Hyderabad motorway (M-9) near Kathore, officials said on Friday.
The crash involved a passenger bus, a goods truck, and at least three cars, according to local police and rescue reports.
Authorities said that the accident occurred near the Ansari Bridge when four speeding vehicles and a cargo truck collided, leaving multiple people injured. Ten victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Rescue teams from Rescue 1122, Edhi Foundation, and Chhipa arrived at the site to assist victims and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. Officials warned that the death toll could rise.
Eyewitnesses said the accident was triggered when a cargo truck overturned, spilling diesel on the roadway and causing other vehicles to skid.
Provincial Interior Minister, Sindh Governor, and Chief Minister expressed condolences over the loss of lives and ordered immediate medical assistance for the injured.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the crash.
