ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed 17 terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out in different parts of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were conducted in Mastung, Noshki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Kech districts on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists.
During the operations, security forces effectively engaged the militants, killing 17 terrorists and recovering a quantity of weapons and ammunition, the ISPR said.
The military’s media wing said that the killed terrorists were involved in various terrorist activities in the province.
It added that clearance and sanitisation operations are continuing in the areas to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure lasting peace and stability.
The ISPR reiterated that security forces remain determined to continue operations under the national campaign against terrorism until the menace is completely eradicated.
“Pakistan’s security forces, in step with the nation, remain resolute in their mission to eliminate terrorism, including threats backed by external sponsors,” the statement added.
