250th US Independence Day: US envoy credits Pakistan for US-Iran peace efforts

LAHORE: The United States marked its 250th Independence Day with a special ceremony at the Lahore Fort, where the US Consul General credited Pakistan for its role in promoting the US-Iran peace process and highlighted growing bilateral ties.
Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and the US Consul General attended the event.
Addressing the ceremony, the US Consul General thanked the Punjab government for hosting the Independence Day celebrations and said Pakistan-US relations were moving forward positively.
He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their efforts in promoting peace, including Pakistan’s role in supporting the US-Iran peace process.
The US Consul General said Pakistan and the United States would continue working together to promote education.
Speaking on the occasion, Maryam Aurangzeb said it was an honour to participate in the US Independence Day celebrations. She conveyed the Punjab Chief Minister Marayam Nawaz’s congratulations to American citizens around the world on the occasion of the United States’ 250th Independence Day.
She said Pakistan and the United States would continue to work together to promote education, while cooperation was also expanding in technology, investment, climate change and tourism.
Maryam Aurangzeb said Pakistan had grown stronger under the leadership of the PM and the Field Marshal, adding that Pakistan-US relations were based on trust and peace.
She also described the history of the United States as one of sacrifice and congratulated every American citizen on the country’s Independence Day, saying bilateral ties had strengthened further in recent months.
