27th Constitutional Amendment Bill to be tabled as NA session starts

The National Assembly session has commenced today, with the 27th Constitutional Amendment scheduled for approval following its passage in the Senate. The Assembly’s agenda for the day has been released, comprising 11 key points.

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar will present the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill for approval in the National Assembly.

Earlier, the Senate had passed the amendment with a two-thirds majority, with 64 members voting in favour and no votes against.

Senator Faisal Vawda noted that the government received support from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in securing the amendment’s approval.

Opposition parties had boycotted the approval process in the Senate. However, PTI Senator Saifullah Abro and JUI Senator Ahmed Khan supported the amendment.
