386 candidates appear in KU’s VS Admission Test for academic session 2025


As many as 386 candidates appeared in the admission test for the Department of Visual Studies of the University of Karachi on Sunday. The two-hour long written test was held in the nine examination rooms of KU’s departments of economics and history.

The University of Karachi received 407 online admission forms for the visual studies department test for the 140 available seats in four-year bachelor of fine arts, four-year bachelor of design, and five-year bachelor of architecture degree programs.

The KU Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr Shaista Tabassum, in-charge of the Directorate of Admissions Professor Dr Saima Akhter, in-charge VS Syed Shamoon Haider and faculty members, medical officer and the member of KU Syndicate Dr Muhammad Hassan Khan Auj, Campus Security Advisor Dr Salman Zubair and others monitored the admission test proceedings.

The Watch and Ward and Directorate of Admissions staff were also present to guide students, and separate waiting areas were established near the examination center for the parents and guardians of the candidates. The staff of the KU Medical Center along with an ambulance were also present during the test.

Meanwhile, in-charge KU Directorate of Admissions Professor Dr Saima Akhter mentioned that on the directives of the KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi the KU has extended the last date for the submission of online admission forms for the entry test base departments till Monday, November 11, 2024. She said that no further extension would be offered to submit online admission forms.

According to her, students interested in applying for B.E., BS (First Year), B. Ed (H), BS (Third Year), Doctor of Pharmacy (morning and evening program), and Doctor of Physical Therapy (morning program) can avail the opportunity from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm. The online admission forms, prospectus, and guidelines regarding admissions policy are available at www.uokadmission.edu.pk.

She shared that the admission form fee can only be submitted in cash at Bank Alfalah, located at KU’s Silver Jubilee Gate and fees cannot be submitted at any other bank. The Directorate of Admissions Help Counter is established at the KU Silver Jubilee Gate for students’ convenience and will remain open from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Professor Dr Saima Akhter said that admit cards of the candidates for the Doctor of Pharmacy (morning and evening programs), BE, BS, BEd (Hons), and DPT will be uploaded on candidates’ portals on November 13, 2024. The admit cards will include details about the examination center and reporting time. The admission test is scheduled for Sunday, November 17, 2024.
