WEB DESK: Chicken prices have shown mixed trends across different cities, with some areas seeing a drop while others experience an increase, according to the latest market updates.
In Lahore, the wholesale rate of live broiler chicken has been fixed at Rs 379 per kg, while the retail rate is Rs 393 per kg. Broiler meat is being sold at Rs 569 per kg, marking a reduction of Rs 8 per kg. Live chicken has also become cheaper by Rs 5 per kg. Eggs are available at Rs 330 per dozen.
In Multan, live broiler chicken is priced at Rs 374 per kg wholesale and Rs 388 per kg retail, while broiler meat costs Rs 563 per kg, down by Rs 8 per kg. Eggs in the city are being sold at Rs 294 per dozen.
Faisalabad, however, has seen a rise in chicken prices. The wholesale rate of broiler chicken is Rs 364 per kg, retail at Rs 378 per kg, and broiler meat costs Rs 548 per kg, up by Rs 7 per kg. Eggs are priced at Rs 333 per dozen.
In Peshawar, chicken prices have jumped significantly in a single day. The price of live chicken per kg increased from Rs 415 to Rs 425, reflecting a Rs 10 per kg hike.
These price fluctuations highlight regional differences in supply and demand, and consumers are advised to keep an eye on local market rates before making purchases.
