ISLAMABAD: In a thrilling semi-final clash at Al Amarat on Friday, Afghanistan A clinched a decisive 20-run victory over India A to secure their spot in the Emerging Asia T20 Cup final. Winning the toss, Afghanistan A opted to bat and powered through to an impressive 206/4 in their 20 overs.
Afghanistan’s batting was led by Zubaid Akbari and Sediqullah Atal, who each made blistering half-centuries. Akbari delivered a scorching 64 off 41 balls, studded with five boundaries and four maximums. Atal went one step further, hammering 83 from 52 deliveries, featuring seven fours and four sixes.

In response, India A’s chase saw sparks but fell short at 186/7, finishing 20 runs behind the target. Rasikh Salam kept India’s hopes alive with three wickets, but Afghanistan’s bowling unit held strong. Allah Ghazanfar and Abdul Rahman both picked up two wickets, proving crucial in Afghanistan’s bowling attack.
The Emerging Asian Cup final is set for October 27, where Afghanistan A will face off against Sri Lanka A for the title.
