ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup: Oman need 88 to win UAE vs OMN match

DOHA: In the day-night UAE vs OMN match, the Hammad Mirza captained team narrowly defeated the UAE by 2 wickets in a last-ball thriller. Chasing 155, Oman finished at 155 for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs to secure a dramatic victory.

It was the 5th out of 14 T20 matches held as UAE vs OMN under the the ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup here on Sunday.

The ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup includes eight teams with playing XI-A of each country divided into two groups (Groups A and B), with the UAE VS OMN match taking place as 5th clash of the Cup.

Oman-A Batting Line

Oman-A opened their chase with skipper Hammad Mirza and Sufyan Yousuf. Mirza provided an early boost with a brisk 28 off 15 balls, while Yousuf managed 2 runs off 4 deliveries before both were dismissed by Muhammad Rohid and Afzal Khan.

Middle-order contributions from Narayan Saishiv (31) and Aryan Bisht (30) anchored the innings, while Wasim Ali chipped in with 30 off 28 balls. Lower-order heroics from Karan Sonavale, who scored a quick 14 off just 5 deliveries, along with unbeaten knocks from Muzahir Raza and Samay Shrivastava, ensured Oman crossed the finish line despite losing 8 wickets. Extras added 15 to the total, including 13 wides.

The UAE had posted a competitive 154-6, but Oman’s bowlers held their nerve in the final overs to clinch a thrilling win. The victory keeps Oman’s hopes alive in the 14-match tournament.

In the AFG vs SL A clash of the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, Sri Lanka were defeated by Afghanistan A, with Sediqullah Atal and Imran Mir scoring a 26-ball 50 runs massive partnership in fourth match of the tournament.
