DUBAI: The UAE women’s cricket team registered one of the fastest victories in Women’s Twenty20 International history at the start of their 2026 ACC Women’s Premier Cup campaign, securing a 10-wicket win over Saudi Arabia in Malaysia.

After bowling out Saudi Arabia for just 27 runs, the UAE openers made light work of the target, completing the chase in less than an over.

With this performance, the team secured a place among the quickest wins ever recorded in the format. So far, only a few teams, including Rwanda, Tanzania, and Thailand, have achieved faster victories in women’s T20 internationals, each completing successful chases in just four legal deliveries. The UAE’s latest triumph places them among the most dominant performances in the history of the game.

The emphatic result also surpassed the UAE’s previous fastest victory, which coincidentally came against the same opposition during the Gulf Championship in Oman four years ago, when they sealed the win with one ball remaining in the second over in Muscat.

This time, however, they were even more ruthless. After their bowlers dismantled the Saudi batting line-up, the UAE openers finished the job in just five balls, launching their Premier Cup campaign in spectacular fashion.

The commanding victory shows the UAE’s status as one of the leading contenders in the tournament and provides a strong start to their quest for qualification.
