The killing of these two Afghan Khawarij comes on a day where ISPR DG Lt-Gen Chaudhry said security forces had carried out over 62,000 intelligence-based operations so far in 2025.

It resulted in the killing of 1,667 Khawarij, he said, adding that 128 of them were Afghan nationals — showing how actively Afghanistan and the terrorist groups based there are carrying out terrorism activities in Pakistan.
About the killing of two Khawarij — the term used for TTP and other terrorist groups — in North Waziristan, the ISPR said the security forces picked up the movement of a group of Khawarij, opposite the Esham area, as they “were trying to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan border”.
It said as a result of “precise and skillful engagement”, two Khawarij were sent to hell, adding that “one of the killed Khawarij has been identified as Qasim — an Afghan national who was actively serving in Afghan Border Police”.
Similarly, the ISPR said the troops, in another intelligence-based operation conducted in Tank, successfully neutralised another member of Fitna al-Khawarij who was identified as alias Abu Dajana — also an Afghan national.
AFGHANISTAN AND TERRORISM
“These incidents reveal continued involvement of Afghan nationals in numerous terrorist activities against innocent civilians and security forces inside Pakistan,” said the ISPR.

In this respect, the military media wing said, “Pakistan has repeatedly been asking the interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border.”
It added that the Taliban regime “is expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by Khawarij and involvement of its citizens in terrorism inside Pakistan”.
