TEHRAN: Iranian officials have vowed strong retaliation against the United States and Israel following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, signaling a new phase of military readiness and strategic operations.
The Iranian Parliament Speaker declared that the attack crossed a “red line” and promised painful responses against American and Israeli targets. He confirmed that “Operation True Promise 4” was carried out just hours after Khamenei’s death and noted that Iran’s armed forces have only partially deployed their capabilities, warning that further strikes will continue against US bases and Israeli centers.
The Speaker added that a temporary leadership council will be established according to the Iranian constitution, aiming to strengthen the bond between the government and the people.
Separately, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council accentuated the country’s forces are fully prepared to defend sovereignty and respond with unprecedented force. He accused the US and Israel of seeking to divide and weaken Iran, vowing that any such attempts would be met with “no leniency.”
The Iranian Army echoed these warnings, affirming that Khamenei’s assassination “will not go unanswered” and reaffirming its commitment to defending Iran’s independence and territorial unity.
TRUMP WARNS OF UNPRECEDENTED RETALIATION
In response to Tehran’s threats of intensified attacks, US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that any Iranian strike “harder than they have ever hit before” would be met with a force “that has never been seen before.” Trump noted the seriousness of the warning, urging attention to the matter while framing it as a direct deterrent against further escalation.
