Al Nassr sign Portugal’s Costa from Mallorca

WEB DESK: Saudi Pro League champions Al Nassr have signed Portugal midfielder Samu Costa from LaLiga side Mallorca, the two clubs announced on Sunday.

Al Nassr welcomed Costa with a social media post saying, “The odyssey begins,” alongside a video depicting the midfielder in the club’s kit riding a horse, a reference to the team’s nickname, the Knights of Najd.

Mallorca also confirmed the transfer, thanking Costa for his “commitment and professionalism” during his time at the Spanish club.

Costa was part of Portugal’s squad at the recent World Cup, where they reached the round of 16 before suffering a 1-0 defeat to eventual champions Spain.
