FIA summons Aleema Khan

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned Aleema Khan, the sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, to quiz her for allegedly spreading hatred against the state institutions and “creating a divide” between the people of the Pakistan and the army.

According to the FIA notice, she has been asked to record her statement to the FIA headquarters by February 16 at 11am, or face legal action.

Aleema Khan has been summoned by FIA’s Counter Terrorism Wing (CTW) for questioning.

The FIA has initiated a cybercrime inquiry against Aleema Khan at the behest of the state, accusing her of spreading fear and panic in society through her speeches. The notice stated that the she incited people to carry out violence against the state.

This is not the first time that Aleema Khan has been in trouble with the law. She was also involved in a case of undeclared assets and tax evasion, for which she had to pay a hefty fine. She has also been criticized for her role in the PTI’s foreign funding case.
