RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentarians and party activists staged a sit-in outside Adiala Jail after being denied permission to meet incarcerated party leader and former prime minister Imran Khan.

Earlier, the former premier’s sisters, Aleema Khanum, Noreen Khan, and Uzma Khan, arrived at Adiala Jail along with six lawyers whose names were included in the approved list for a scheduled meeting.

They were expecting to meet the party founder; however, they were made to wait outside the jail and were not granted access to meet him.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and several members of the provincial assembly also reached the jail to express solidarity with the PTI founder.

After the denial of access, the scheduled meeting time ended without anyone being allowed to meet the former premier, including his family members and party leaders.

Following this, the PTI founder’s sisters, along with CM Sohail Afridi and other lawmakers, staged a sit-in at the Factory checkpoint, which is still ongoing.
