QUETTA – In a significant development, Mir Ali Mardan Domki has been selected as the interim Chief Minister for Balochistan by a parliamentary panel entrusted with the responsibility of finalizing this pivotal appointment.
The decision, reached on Friday, has received formal endorsement from Balochistan Governor, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar.
The office of the Governor, as communicated by the Public Relations Officer Paind Khan Kharoti, has confirmed that the approval was granted based on the recommendation forwarded by the parliamentary committee, a proposition conveyed to the Governor last night.
Mir Ali Mardan Domki, whose impending oath-taking is anticipated, assumes a role of considerable import in this interim capacity.

This determination comes after the initial effort to designate the caretaker Chief Minister for Balochistan encountered an impasse. Notably, the proceedings were stymied due to the absence of three committee members who were tasked with the responsibility of nominating the new Chief Minister.
Hailing from the esteemed lineage of the Domki family, Mir Ali Mardan Domki formerly held the esteemed position of district nazim of Sibbi. His father, the distinguished former senator Mir Huzoor Bakhsh Domki, and his brother, the erstwhile Minister of State Mir Dostin Khan Domki, underscore the family’s prominent political stature. Domki’s influence, deeply rooted in tribal and political spheres, remains undisputed.
It is noteworthy that the newly appointed interim Chief Minister, Mir Ali Mardan Domki, hails from the Lahri region of Balochistan, further cementing his local connection and affinity with the region. As he prepares to assume his interim responsibilities, Domki’s engagement holds the promise of impactful governance during this transitional phase.
