ISLAMABAD: Islamabad district administration said on Tuesday that all educational institutions in the federal capital will remain closed for the third consecutive day on Wednesday (tomorrow) due to the prevailing law and order situation.
The district administration announced that both private and public schools, colleges and universities across the city would remain closed on Wednesday.
The decision has been taken in light of the current circumstances to ensure the safety and security of students and teachers.
“This closure applies to all educational institutions in the federal capital,” said the district administration.
It should be remembered that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers have staged a sit-in at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, demanding the release of former prime minister Imran Khan.
PTI convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country reached D-Chowk after navigating barricades and hurdles.
At D-Chowk, videos and footage emerged of Bushra Bibi, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and other party leaders joining the PTI workers.
After reaching D-Chowk, the party initially announced a sit-in until its demands were met. The protest convoys, led by PTI leaders and former first lady Bushra Bibi reached the capital’s Red Zone despite blockades and barricades at several places from Peshwar to Islamabad.
