‘American Idol’ star Mandisa found dead at 47, investigations underway

TENNESSEE: ‘American Idol’ contestant Mandisa Lynn Hundley was discovered deceased in her Tennessee residence on Thursday.
According to the local police, investigations are underway to rule out foul play and ascertain the cause of her death. The singer was 47 at the time of her untimely death death.

The news of Mandisa’s passing has stirred shock among her fans and the music industry. Her manager confirmed the news of her death on Friday while he requested “prayers” for her grieving loved ones.
Mandisa rose to prominence through her participation in the famous singing competition “American Idol” in 2005, where she reached the final nine contestants before exiting the show.
Following her tenure on “American Idol,” Mandisa ventured into Christian music, releasing several albums that garnered favourable reviews. Her debut album “True Beauty” claimed the top spot on the “Top Christian Albums” chart. It would go on to debut on the “Billboard 200” as well at number 43.

Similarly, her debut single “Only the World” released in 2007 and achieved significant success. It reached the second position on the “Billboard Hot Singles Sales” chart. The song would go on peak at number one for several days.
Mandisa would go on to win the prestigious Grammy Award for her album “Overcomer” in 2013.
