Andrew Tate faces new rape, trafficking and child abuse image charges

Social media personality Andrew Tate is facing a new series of criminal charges in the United Kingdom, including allegations of rape, sex trafficking and possessing indecent images of a child, The Telegraph reported on Tuesday.

Tate, 39, was arrested alongside his younger brother Tristan in Florida on Saturday after British prosecutors authorised additional charges against both men. The brothers appeared before a federal court in Miami on Monday, where their legal team confirmed they would challenge efforts to extradite them to Britain.

Andrew Tate has been charged with seven counts of rape, three counts of sex trafficking and three counts of assault. He also faces 19 charges linked to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate is accused of two counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and three counts of sex trafficking.

Court filings state that the latest charges relate to alleged incidents involving four women between July 2010 and August 2017. Authorities have accused the brothers of using violence against women, including choking alleged victims and, in some cases, causing them to lose consciousness before sexually assaulting them.

One complainant alleged that Andrew Tate repeatedly placed her in chokeholds during an incident at her home in Bedford in 2015 before raping her. Another woman told investigators that he allegedly strangled her during a visit to her Manchester home, leaving her fearful for her life.

The documents also include allegations against Tristan Tate from a woman with whom he had been in a relationship in 2012 and 2013. During Monday’s hearing, both men appeared in prison clothing and were restrained at the wrists, waist and ankles. They spoke briefly to confirm that they understood the proceedings and their legal rights.

Their lawyer, Joseph D McBride, rejected the allegations and maintained that both brothers were innocent. He described the case as politically motivated and said the extradition process could take around two months.

The brothers are expected to remain in custody in Florida until their next hearing on July 27. They may challenge the British extradition request through the US courts, while the final decision would rest with the American administration.

The latest allegations add to existing cases against the brothers. Andrew Tate was already facing 10 charges in Britain, including rape, causing bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for financial gain. Tristan Tate had previously been charged with rape, bodily harm and human trafficking offences.

The brothers have lived in Romania since 2016 and are also under investigation there over separate allegations involving rape, human trafficking, organised crime and money laundering. They deny wrongdoing in all cases.
