KARACHI: A sessions court on Friday acquitted Anmol alias Pinky, alleged by police to be the head of a Karachi drug network, in a narcotics case registered in 2018, citing a lack of evidence. It is the fourth case in which she has been cleared.

The verdict was announced by the Additional District and Sessions Judge (South), who had been hearing the case against her and others. She appeared before the court via video link.

The case was registered at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station after three suspects were arrested in Akhtar Colony in 2018 and a large quantity of hashish and cocaine was allegedly recovered from them. Her brother, Nasir, one of those arrested, had already been acquitted in the case.

Anmol had earlier been declared a proclaimed absconder in the case. She had recently moved the court under Section 265-K of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which allows an accused to seek acquittal when the evidence is considered insufficient for conviction. Two prosecution witnesses, including investigating officer Muhammad Mansoor, had recorded statements before the court, and both identified her as the accused.

In a supplementary charge sheet submitted in July, the CTD claimed the suspects told investigators they worked for “Madam Pinky” and took instructions from her to supply drugs across Karachi. It alleged that she fixed the rate at Rs12,000 to Rs15,000 per gram and confessed to being the ringleader during interrogation in the women’s jail after her formal arrest in the case. The charge sheet also said Nasir told police that Anmol was his real sister and that the rest of the family had moved to Lahore.

She has previously been acquitted by a sessions court for lack of evidence in three older cases registered at the Gizri police station in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She has also sought acquittal in another Gizri case registered in 2021.

Anmol was arrested in May 2026 in two cases registered at the Garden police station, involving alleged possession of drugs and an unlicensed weapon. She had been booked or declared a proclaimed offender in several other cases before her arrest.
