Yet another woman harassed in broad daylight in Karachi

KARACHI: Another Karachi woman was sexually harassed in a third such incident, as the city faces a recent spike in sexual assault cases.

The burqa-clad woman was harassed by a man riding a motorcycle when she was passing through a neighbourhood street in Block 17 of Federal B Area, near Madina Masjid.

The CCTV footage clearly showed the culprit, at 10:55am, fleeing the scene after the woman resisted and cried out for help.

According to a Geo News report, the harasser escaped before he could be apprehended as witnesses gathered after the incident. The police, once again, was unsuccessful in catching the suspect.

Police said no one has contacted them to launch an investigation into the matter, and that the victim remains unidentified. Footage from other cameras in the area is still being acquired and processed.

Karachi is witnessing an alarming trend of women facing harassment, ever since a shocking case went viral last month. The case sparked widespread outrage and demand for justice.

A man was caught on camera sexually harassing a veiled woman during daytime, in a neighbourhood in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

It was followed by a second incident of similar nature in Orangi Town.

While the Orangi Town culprit was detained, the Jauhar harasser remains unapprehend.
