ANP workers assault PTI leader at Peshawar High Court

PTI ANP clash

PESHAWAR: Unruly Awami National Party (ANP) workers reportedly attacked Fazal Muhammad Khan, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI).

Fazal had previously defeated ANP’s Asfand Yar Wali in the 2018 general elections.

The assault occurred during the hearing of a contempt of court case against ANP’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President, Aimal Wali Khan.

ANP workers allegedly kicked and punched Fazal, creating a chaotic scene outside the courtroom.

PHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, who had summoned Aimal to explain his position over an interview, was disrupted by the commotion.

Chief Justice Khan had to instruct the security personnel to silence the ANP workers, stating, “If you don’t silence them, I won’t hear the case.”

PTI condemning the incident in a social media post on X termed the incident as shameful and invited the ANP to compete with them in elections instead of resorting to such “cheap” tactics.
