Anya Taylor-Joy confirms secret marriage to Malcolm McRae

WEB DESK: Actress Anya Taylor-Joy confirmed her marriage to musician Malcolm McRae in 2022 on Wednesday.

The revelation came after Taylor-Joy shared details about their private wedding ceremony on social media platform Instagram.

Taylor-Joy confirmed how she and Malcolm McRae married “two years ago, on April Fools”.

The event occurred in New Orleans on April 1, 2022, with a Southern gothic theme.

In the post, Taylor-Joy affectionately referred to McRae as her “best friend” and shared photos and videos from the celebration, including unique features like heart-shaped cakes that accurately depicted a human heart. She confirmed the bemusement regarding the heart-cakes, quipping that “yes, those are anatomically correct heart cakes”.

In a playful nod to her upcoming role in “Interview with the Vampire,” she humourously called herself “the vampire Lestat” in the caption.

Notable guests at the wedding included model Cara Delevingne and photographer Sebastian Faena.

Meanwhile, Taylor-Joy’s wedding dress was designed by Dior.

Despite previous speculations about their wedding dates, Taylor-Joy and McRae surprised fans by revealing the true date of their marriage.

Their relationship became public in 2021, following their meeting at the premiere of “The Queen’s Gambit,” with formal confirmation a year later at a pre-Oscars party.

McRae reciprocated Taylor-Joy’s sentiments on social media, expressing his love for her and commemorating their anniversary.

Anya Taylor-Joy was born in the United States but spending most of her life in the United Kingdom and Argentina.

She made her acting debut in 2013. However, she gained wider recognition for her breakthrough role in the horror movie “The VVitch” in 2015.

She has since garnered acclaim for her performances in various dramas and films, including Netflix’s “The Queen’s Gambit,” “Peaky Blinders,” “Emma,” “The Northman,” and “Mad Max: Furiosa.”
